Sustainability Tree

We demonstrate our commitment by using materials that:

  • are sourced from partners with sustainability initiatives in place

  • are readily recyclable

  • contain recycled content (35% or more recycled fibers)

Unlike single material manufacturers, we consistently prove that combining different materials to exploit the inherent strengths of each result in synergistic packaging designs that:

  • pack easier and faster

  • solve packaging challenges with fewer or less complex parts

  • outperform single material designs

  • reduce the cost burdens of "low-cost" under-performing packaging

The three key sustainable materials we use are:

  • Kraft Honeycomb

  • Corrugated

  • Fibre/Core®

These materials possess unique structural properties that compliment each other in very different ways.

Sustainable Materials

a choice you can live with

Used as interior and exterior protective packaging material. Its strength to weight ratio and its energy dissipation qualities make it the perfect choice for many protective packaging applications.

Honeycomb Benefits:

  • Strong

  • Lightweight

  • Economical

  • Highly versatile

  • Unrivaled cushioning

  • Will not rupture

  • Sustainable

  • Recyclable

  • Contains recycled content

  • Thicknesses up to 4" (standard) or any combined thickness

  • Surface coatings available

Honeycomb Applications:

  • Blocking

  • Bracing

  • Cushioning and impact protection

  • Support

  • Void fill

  • Product indexing and separation

Die-Cut Kraft Honeycomb offers unrivaled impact protection at an affordable price.

Corrugated board is the most widely used packaging design medium in use today.  Cartons, trays, sheets, partitions and die-cut configurations make up the bulk of US packaging material. Since the late 1970s, FASS Packaging has paired corrugated with other materials to exploit the engineering strengths of each. While corrugated is an irreplaceable performer in our design toolbox, by adding complimentary materials, our customers reap the benefits not available through single material designs.

Corrugated Benefits:

  • Excellent product containment

  • Excellent stacking strength

  • Lightweight

  • Sustainable

  • Recyclable

  • Contains recycled content

  • Highly versatile

  • Protects product from elements

  • Vastly configurable

  • Highly printable

  • Surface coatings available

Corrugated Applications:

  • Product containment and unitization

  • Product indexing and separation

  • Stacking

  • Blocking

  • Bracing

  • Support

Corrugated board is versatile, strong and cost effective and easily recycled.

Originally conceived as a solid wood replacement, Fibre/Core® is constructed from solid fiber and corrugated layers. Its compression strength is extreme and impressive (125-225 psi). Whether used as a secure base material, pallet decking, exterior corner protection, crating or interior corner cleat, it's durable and export friendly.

Fibre/Core® Benefits

  • Strong

  • Lightweight (compared to solid wood)

  • Extremely durable

  • Highly versatile

  • Unrivaled cushioning

  • Sustainable

  • Recyclable

  • Contains recycled content

  • ISPM 15 friendly (export regulation)

  • Available in any thickness

  • Surface coatings available

Fibre/Core® Applications:

  • Blocking

  • Bracing

  • Cushioning (when die-cut or crushed)

  • Impact protection

  • Pallet decking

  • Base for conveyed production

  • Structural support

  • Top frame

  • Void fill

FASS Packaging is very passionate about sustainability. Our company was founded on the premise that materials which are easily and readily recycled should replace solid wood and foam packaging where applicable. For nearly 40 years we have honored that premise. Call 636-390-0300 or email us to begin a better packaging program.
